The Best Laptops for Graphic Design

,
3D MODELLING SOFTWARE :

How do you choose the best laptop for graphic design? Pretty easy, I might say, since you need to focus a lot on the laptops hardware, rather than its software. In the laptop industry many people tend to choose Dell or Apple, since their brands have made it clear that when you choose one of their products, you won't ever regret doing so. They are known almost everywhere as being the top of the line in what they do.

But without having to scare away the competition, here are some key factors you might want to take into consideration when choosing the very best laptop for graphic design:

Actual Screen Resolution

This refers to the actual screen resolution a laptop screen can output. It doesn't necessarily have to do much with the screen size itself. Some 13 inch screen laptops are capable of resolutions of 1280 by 800, but this doesn't mean you should choose such a tiny laptop to do graphic design with. Aim for something preferably above 15.4 inches in screen size, since newer laptop models tend to pack a lot of pixels in a tight screen space.

Do an actual resolution test and see what resolution works best for you, and your workflow. Open up several programs, including Photoshop, and try to see how the toolbars fit in, how big is the editing space (the image being edited), and how sharp the actual image is at that particular screen resolution. My guess is that after a few experimentations, you'll come up with the perfect screen resolution to suit your entire workflow.

If you do find a laptop to your liking but the resolution or screen size is too small, one good idea would be to get a second monitor for your laptop, that way you can store all those toolbars on the monitor and work on editing the image on your laptop screen.

System RAM

The system RAM is a very important aspect to look for when choosing a laptop for graphic design. Graphic design implies using programs which tend to use a lot of RAM, so the more RAM your system has, the better those programs will run, the faster you will get the work done and get the best possible performance out of your laptop.

Graphics designers use Photoshop a lot, along with other vector graphics design programs, and they usually run about 3-4 programs at a time, so the amount of RAM the laptop has is crucial to overall performance. You should start at a minimum of 2 GB of RAM, if you only use one of these programs at a time.

But if you intend to multitask and run several programs at a time, your graphics design laptop should carry at least 2GB of RAM or higher. The highest level you can go with current laptops is the 4GB. When you own a 4GB RAM bearing laptop, you are sure to get everything done in the least amount of time possible.

Since vendors tend to charge extra for RAM upgrades on machines bought from them, it would be wise to purchase a machine with a standard amount of RAM, then buy some extra modules and upgrade the laptop yourself.

Laptop CPU - Processor

The best laptops for graphic design will carry a CPU capable of handling most programs which require a lot of calculations. Vector design, for example, implies a lot of calculations to be done, so a laptop with a strong CPU will be needed. It would be wise to aim for processors with more cores than one. Some models have more than one processing core, so this type of processor will do just fine.

A general rule of thumb - the higher you aim on the processor scale, the better your system will run.

Graphics Card

When choosing the best laptop for graphic design work, you'll know you'll never choose one that has a built in graphics card that sucks away available RAM to run. You can lose up to 512 megs of RAM if your laptop doesn't have a dedicated video card.

The system tends to run much slower overall, since it uses RAM for both the running programs, and sharing with the built in video card. Getting a laptop with a dedicated video card is an important step you should not overlook.

Since the laptop you're getting will be used for graphics design, you don't have to concern yourself to get the latest and best graphics card installed on it (only if you will be using the laptop for games as well or 3D modelling). A standard graphics card with a memory of 64-256 MB of memory will do just fine.

You would only need a better graphics card if you wish to install a lot of games or if you intend to do 3D modelling and rendering.

The best laptops for graphic design carry a dedicated graphics card with it's own separate memory.

Conclusion:

The very best laptops for graphic design have a good native resolution allowing you to squeeze in many toolbars and still have room for the editing area, a generous amount of system RAM and a dedicated video card, and last but not least, a higher level of central processing power, with more than one processing core.

Glucose Monitors - Managing and Controlling Diabetes

,
3D MODELLING SOFTWARE :

Glucose monitors play very important roles in controlling diabetes. Health professionals are one in underscoring the benefits of blood glucose monitoring for managing diabetes and good health in general. Continuous monitoring helps diabetics avoid serious complications. Before, urine testing was done to check for glucose levels. Today, it is no longer recommended and is no longer reliable. Blood glucose monitors or meters are better at the job. Yet still, urine testing remains a primary tool today in diabetes care as it used in the detection of ketones.

Glucose monitors checks the concentration of glucose in the blood, called glycemia. Blood is tested for glycemia content by these monitors. The skin is pierced by a lancet, normally at the finger tips, to take a small amount of blood as sample. This is then placed on a disposable strip which would later change in color or electrical property depending on the type and result of the test. The visual strip type changes in color as blood reacts with chemicals on the test strip. The resulting change in color varies according to glucose concentration. The electrical device type is measured with an electronic meter. Within a few seconds, the digital meter displays the glucose level. It takes from 5 to 60 seconds to read results, varying from model to model. Alternative sites have been suggested for drawing blood samples but they normally do not compare with the finger tips in reflecting rapidly changing levels of glucose.

Glucose monitors are essential in home blood glucose monitoring (HBGM). Several models have come out in the last thirty years. The first units appeared in the 1970s. They were huge and bulky by today's standards. The first devices used the same visual colorimetric system that is still in use in urine test strips. These would require 30 micro liters (µl) of blood samples, referred to as hanging drop, which are quite large compared to only 0.3 to 10 micro liters for today's units. The sizes of the newer monitors are about the size of the palm of an adult's hand. Some models are even smaller while a few are a little larger. Instead of disposable strips, some models have discs that can be reused.

More and newer monitors now have the capability for data transfer. Readings may be downloaded onto a computer that has corresponding diabetes monitoring software through cables or infrared. Some can even be linked to insulin injection devices and PDAs. All monitors feature clocks and memory to store past results. These functions help a person with diabetes to better manage, keep a record, and watch for patterns and developments.

The accuracy of glucose monitors are at about ±10 to 15%. But more factors should be considered regarding these numbers. Elements that may influence accurate readings include the temperature in the immediate surrounding area, humidity, the person's intake of drugs that will be present in the blood, dirt on the meter, calibration of the monitor or meter, percentage of red blood cells in the blood sample, the strips to be used are either new or already old, and the quality and amount of the blood sample. These factors may compromise an accurate measurement. A good way to check and test for accurateness of the monitors is for the user to check for himself the glucose levels at about the same time that a blood sample has been drawn when visiting a doctor and then make comparisons.

Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems make use of a small sensor that is inserted under the skin. They measure levels of glucose in tissue fluid. The individual must wear the sensor in the same place for up to a week. Then it should be replaced. The sensor, after measuring glucose levels, transmits this information to a wireless monitor that may be carried around or worn. However, CGM models are not as accurate and reliable as standard units. They are also much more expensive. In exchange for the higher cost is the ability of the individual for a closer and better glucose monitoring and control. CGM devices can take real-time readings at every 5- or even 1-minute intervals. These come with alarm functions that can warn the diabetic of a too low or too high glucose levels. They also have data transfer capabilities for closer tracking and analysis similar to conventional monitors.

How Much Does It Really Cost to Start a Home Business Opportunity?

,
3D MODELLING SOFTWARE :

Right let's talk about money - specifically what is the cost that you realistically need to start up a successful home business opportunity?

I'm going to cover as many different opportunity areas as possible and give you an indication of the typical fees and cost to start your own home business opportunity, based upon feedback and personal experience.

So, in no particular order, let's get stuck in.

The potential cost involved when you start a home business opportunity

FINANCIAL SPREAD TRADING

It's a hot topic right now (especially Forex trading) and here are plenty of systems, software and training seminars out there. First off, you MUST accept that any money you put into trading has to be money you are comfortable losing. If you are in any way emotionally tied to the money you are using, then forget about making reasonable trading decisions.

Also, it would be wildly irresponsible of you to use emergency or 'rainy day' money. No matter how tempting it might be, do not take out a loan or remortgage the house (yes, people do consider this!).

From the hundreds of systems I have come across, I would say that the bare minimum required to trade would be 100 (this is in addition to the cost of the actual trading system which I'll get on to that in a moment.). And that's a best-case scenario where you are being closely trained. If you are going it alone with a piece of software or trading system, then a more realistic starting pot would be £500 or preferably £1,000. Why? First, if you are following a sensible staking plan then you won't be risking more than around 3% per trade. Now, it only takes 10 losing trades in a row (which is entirely possible), to wipe out a big chunk of your bank. So you need enough in there to trade another day.

Bear in mind that most spread betting companies will require you to stake at least £1 per point, so if you were to have a stop loss of say 10 points, your maximum loss would be £10. If, you are risking 3% per trade, you would need at least £300 to cover yourself.

Also consider the compounding issue - the more you have to start with, the higher your stakes and the sooner compounding can really kick in and grow your bank.

So what about the cost of trading systems? Right now, the range is huge. Yes, you can pick up strategies for as little as £50 all the way up to £6,000+. Is the £6K strategy any better than the £50? Maybe but then again maybe not.

Expect to pay much higher price for software. As you would expect, there is a higher cost of development as well as a higher perceived value. Like anything, you often get what you pay for. When making a decision, I would always make sure there are plenty of testimonials from previous users plus an unconditional money back guarantee period.

Also factor in your ongoing costs such as data feeds and the spread.

SPORTS BETTING

Very similar to financial trading. If you are taking it seriously, with a strict money management and staking plan, you need at least £500 - £1000 to cover losing runs and ensure you are staking enough per bet to build your bank. If you are only making a couple of quid from each successful bet, then it's important that you reinvest those winnings and increase your stakes accordingly. Obviously, the more you start with, the greater the compound effect.

How much should you expect to pay for a tipster? Industry standard seem to start around £25 per month, going all the way up to around £90. Always take into consideration with any subscription tipping service (either financial or sports betting), that you need to recover your subscription fee BEFORE making a profit.

Tips on selecting a tipster? Again, plenty of testimonials, a transparent track record plus some form of unconditional refund policy. Also, expect the worse case scenario that when you join you might be in the middle of a losing run. This happens even to the best tipsters. But if you choose wisely and look to the long term, then you 'should' come out winning.

PROPERTY INVESTING

Before the credit crunch you could raise finance for property investment with virtually no money down. Today, you haven't got a chance! With the squeeze on credit markets, lenders are looking for a big deposit - 25% or more in some cases. So unless you have a chunk of capital or consider pooling your money in a property syndicate, it's not something I would advise... at least until rates and deals become more favourable.

INFO PUBLISHING

Gaining resale rights for information products (manuals, DVDs, audio sets etc) and selling them on or offline continues to be a big draw. And rightly so, as the business model is proven and the potential profits high. But what are the real costs? If you want the quick route, then buying resale rights can cost anywhere from 100 - 10,000 depending on the quality and exclusivity of the title. Of course, plundering the public domain for copyright-free material costs nothing but your time in collating, editing and formatting.

One thing that you will have to face at some point (and this goes for many businesses that rely on online or direct response marketing) is the cost of copywriting.

Copywriting continues to be one of the most important and valuable skills.

Good copy can make the difference between a million pound profit and failure. Yes, it's that important! And yet, it is the one area that most people entering into info publishing completely underestimate. A decent middleweight direct response copywriter is going to charge at least 2,000 - 3,000+ for an 8-12 page promotion. And even then, you have absolutely no guarantee the promo will work.

Over the long term, I would strongly recommend that you consider learning the basic copy skills yourself, even if it is to give you experience in reviewing other people's copy, it would be time and money well spent.

Oh and if you are putting together any form of hard copy publication, then an experienced layout Mac operator is going to charge you at least £20 per hour. Though you can sometimes put something together yourself with Microsoft Word templates...but it'll take a lot of patience!

List rental: if you are going down the direct mail route, rentals of quality lists start around £150 per thousand and you would usually be expected to rent at least 3,000 of any individual list. In my experience, you cannot launch through direct mail (at least in the business to consumer market) without testing a minimum 10,000 names - which would allow you three list tests. If you're onto a winner, then you'll generate say a 2-4% response rate based upon a sub £100 product. For a launch mailing you can expect to pay around 600 per thousand mailed, so your upfront costs (excluding product fulfillment and copywriting) will be at least 6,000.

Of course, you don't have to go down the direct mail route... you could test off the page or online with what's known as a 2 stager: so your small ad leads to either an online promotion or a request to be sent a hard copy.

Setting Up a Website:

Whether you are selling your own products or creating a site to push traffic to affiliate links, the price of creating your own website has come down a lot in recent years. It's now possible to get hosting, web templates and a domain name for less than £100 all in. I won't go into the details of how here, but a couple of spare evenings and even the most technically challenged could have a basic site up. Of course, the trick is not the website itself, but how you drive traffic to it in the first place. If you already have a list of clients, then make sure you have their email addresses and send them a regular eletter with links to the site.

Search Engine Optimisation

Again, this is spawned a lucrative mini industry with consultants and ebooks and seminars all promising to reveal how to get your website high up the Google rankings. Now to be honest, there's really no big secret to making a website attractive to the search engines. You've got to fill it with quality editorial copy that delivers go advice around a specific niche area. The more relevant copy you have, the more attractive your site becomes to the likes of Google.

The other 'secret' is simply to get as many other high quality websites linking to your site. This is seen as evidence that your site contains quality and relevant material for prospective searchers.

Neither adding editorial or linking necessarily costs money BUT it will take a time - perhaps 6 - 12 months of regular graft before you see any results. By all means go research about keyword density and all the other technical issues, but don't be tempted to splash out thousands unnecessarily!

Online advertising: much has been written about Google AdWords. Depending on your keywords you are bidding for this could be anywhere from pennies to 10+ per click. Despite what many Internet gurus would have you believe, this is a hugely difficult and challenging route and is best approached with extreme caution. Your daily budget can get gobbled up very quickly and if you are not converting visitors well, then you'll soon be out of pocket.

SHORTCUTS: I bang on about joint ventures all the time and they really are the best way to leverage your time and money. You can gain exposure to your product and build a valuable list of enquirers and buyers through some shrewd JV partnering.

eBay: zero start up costs!

Yep, you can register as a seller with eBay for free (you just need to give your credit card details though). Start by selling unwanted items you have around the house. Factor in your shipping costs in the auction details. You pay an insertion fee per listing - this starts at 10p for auction prices up to 99p through to 1.30 for auction starting at 100+. You also pay a Final value Fee to eBay if you sell the product - this is calculated on a sliding scale, starting with 5.25% for the first 29.99 down to 1% on anything over 600. Take a look at http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/fees.html for full breakdown.

FRANCHISING

A huge industry that offers a well-established route to buy a proven business off the peg. I won't go into details here, but prices for franchises can range from around 5,000 - 250,000 and that excludes operating capital. A great place to start is the independent British Franchise Association http://www.thebfa.org/

Bottom line: What should you pay for an opportunity? I have seen brilliant opportunity products and services sold for 20 and outright scams peddled for 5,000. Problem is, the best low priced opps tend to be run by people who are not marketers, so you need to keep your eyes peeled!

How Car Mechanics Use Technology

,
3D MODELLING SOFTWARE :

Do you know why it's important to find a good mechanic or a good repair shop to repair your car? The reason: it could save you hundreds of dollars in parts and labor! When we say a "good mechanic" or a "good repair shop", we're referring to mechanics who are equipped with the latest technology. You don't want to entrust your car to a shop with outdated machinery and equipment because it will take longer to arrive at a diagnosis. And the longer a mechanic takes to make a diagnosis, the larger your bill for labor!

Remember that car mechanics charge by the hour.

Car repairs can cover any one or a combination of the following (note that this is not a complete repair list).

• Air conditioning checks
• Air bag checks
• Electrical wiring
• Cables
• Clutch service and repair
• Transmission repair
• Wheel Alignment
• Suspension
• Brakes
• Heating system
• Oil and lubrication
• Battery
• Power windows

Much of the troubleshooting that mechanics use to diagnose a problem is facilitated by car repair technology.

Ever noticed how some lights on your panel come on when something's wrong? In most cases, an experienced mechanic will know immediately what the problem is, but there are instances where it will take sophisticated technology to lead to an accurate diagnosis.

Sophisticated technology comes in many forms and one popular one is troubleshooting software. Companies like Auto Tech have a software program that car owners can use to find out what is ailing their vehicle.

Most car owners who were cynical about software programs before should seriously consider purchasing a reliable car troubleshooting software program. For instance, some programs start out by asking you to input your car make and model number, the year of the car and what kinds of equipment it has. The software features a large database of information about all cars in the market and a car owner simply follows the steps when prompted. It employs what the industry calls a "tree diagnosis" where logical steps take you through the entire diagnosis process.

After you've keyed in your car's profile, you use the drop down menu to choose the symptoms that your car is exhibiting. For instance, if you choose "squealing brakes", the program mimics the squealing of brakes and if that's the sound you hear, you confirm it and the program recommends a series of steps.

You may not really want to use a troubleshooting software, but imagine how much time and money you could save if you spoke to the mechanic intelligently, letting him know that you're in the know.

Students who are studying towards certification buy certain tools of the trade. A couple of examples are Snap On and Mac Tools. These two are the most popular in the United States and Canada.

Mechanics now have a wide range of technology tools to help them understand car problems better: digital multimeters (electronic measuring), boroscopes (testing heat exchangers), fuel diagnostic testers (testing and balancing fuel injectors) and other such new technologies.

New car mechanic technologies help shorten the learning curve and speed up diagnosis so that the car owner isn't saddled with too many labor hours.

Technology Degrees Allow Gamers to Turn Love of Play Into Their Work

,
3D MODELLING SOFTWARE :

The gaming industry is starting a new campaign this year. It wants more women in gaming. No, not as players, but as employees. According to site, GamesCareers.biz, the industry has discovered that 10% of all applications received are from women. As industry studies state 38% of all gamers are female, it's a situation they feel must be rectified immediately. There is more to this field than just development and a degree from accredited online schools will open many doors.

Admittedly, video games suffer from an incredible overdose of testosterone. Go to a convention and predominantly the only females present are convention employees, booth models and bored dates and mothers. To those in the industry, this means they are missing an incredibly huge part of their market. The best solution is to employ more women, both on the development and marketing side, in order to address this situation.

In fact, the situation is considered so dire that no less than Microsoft itself held a conference in its corporate facility in Redmond, Washington, to review the problem. CNET reported that 150 people showed up, with nearly 90% of them being women. The cable news service joked that it was close to all the women in the industry.

Then again, if one reviews the employment situation, it's easy to see why many women are turned off about working in the game industry. For instance, the gaming giants EA and ActiVision are facing a civil action regarding its working conditions. Game developers are expected to work longer-than-average hours with little or no overtime. As game developers tend to be younger than in most other software providers, this is a situation that is particularly hard on young mothers with infants to pre-teens. No matter how cool their mom's job is, the kids do want to see her occasionally.

One company taking the initiative is Sony Online Entertainment, another leader in the video game field. According to CNN, they have created have created G.I.R.L., Gamers In Real Life, a scholarship program to attract more young women to careers in game development. It is being led by Torrie Dorrell, Sony's Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing.

Gamers In Real Life has already given scholarships of ,000 each to two deserving women, with plans to announce a third this May. Another perk of the program is the beneficiaries will also be hired as interns at Sony. For those interested in learning more about this program, the Internet will provide additional information.

This aren't the only monies available to women who want to create fun as a career. One thing to consider is that game development is a part of computer science, and as such is considered a STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) career. Another good source for financial aid is the National Science Foundation for an S-STEM scholarship/grant.

All You Need to Know About the Online Tech Support Companies

,
3D MODELLING SOFTWARE :

All you need to know about the online tech support companies

Online tech support as a service is not a new concept today as most of the people are opting for it to keep their PCs running flawlessly and smoothly. Customers across the globe today feel a lot of difficulty in choosing the right company that can deliver the services as per the requirement. The technological advancement in the domain of Internet led to the mushrooming of relevant service providers which make it difficult for PC users to choose the right company.

In this article we have outlined the essentials of the service that will certainly prove helpful in choosing the right agency for the appropriate service.

What really is a tech support company?

An online tech support company is a unit that is committed to provide solution of software problems that you may encounter with your PC or laptop. What makes these companies highly favorable is their business model. They deliver the service to the customers at highly reduced cost as compared to the onsite service. The next attractive thing about the service is its 24x7 operation to allow you to push them into the action anytime of the day and night.

How to choose the best company for this service?

Quality of support

In the present scenario the industry is flooded with companies that offer such services to global customers. Since this service is related to the security of your system thus providing access of the same to an unauthentic agency could amount to compromising with the data and software. Thus always consider the following factors before choosing the right online tech support company.

The most important thing to consider while choosing a company is the quality delivered by the service provider. The quality is best adjudged by the resolution rate for issues. Under usual circumstances higher resolution refers to better quality of service. Industry considers 95%+ customer satisfaction rating a good standard to judge the quality.

Price

The next important thing you need to ponder upon is the price you are charged in lieu of the service. For a small or medium-sized business ROI (return on investment) plays a vital role in the overall business operation. You need to be prudent and choose only those service providers who offer a balanced combination of quality and budget.

Turnaround time (TAT)

In active business operation nothing is more precious than time. To remain professional against your rivals you need to follow the timings religiously. For this genuine reason you should go only with the tech support company that delivers by taking the minimum time. Keeping your resource idle due to a faulty computer is only going to dent your revenue. Thus tech support provider indirectly contributes to the profit making as well.

However there are numerous players in this domain to choose from but very few of them match the required quality of service. A comparative study can help you select the service provider that best suits your requirement.

,

Unique Hardware ID in C#

,
3D MODELLING SOFTWARE :

Any computer has components that carry a specific serial number. Some numbers are assigned when the operating system is installed, but some are actually embedded in the hardware. Using C#, multiple embedded serials can be combined to create a unique computer ID.

Why a unique serial? A simple reason is for branding software to a specific computer. A perhaps inflexible licensing system, it can be quite effective depending on how it is employed.

For this article we will use two serials, the hard drive and the CPU. Both will be obtained with the built-in C# class System.Management.

If you create a New Project in Visual Studio 2005 (any of the editions), you will notice the line "using System.Management" does not work. You have to add it manually:

  • Go to the Solution Explorer
  • Right-click on References and click "Add Reference..."
  • Find System.Management from the .Net tab.

Once set up it is easy to get the hardware ID's.

The hard drive ID's depends obviously on the harddrive. Here is the pseudocode:

  • Create a ManagementObject with the string "win32_logicaldisk.deviceid=[drive letter here]:"
  • Access the serial with the index "VolumeSerialNumber", for example disk["VolumeSerialNumber"] where disk is the ManagementObject

The CPU ID is actually rather flexible also. Many computers nowadays have more than one CPU. You use the first one as in my example, or multiple ones:

  • Create a ManagementObject with the string "win32_processor"
  • Go through the available processors
  • Access the property like so: managObject.Properties["processorID"]

Combining them can be simple or complex. Simply adding them together in a row works just fine. For my example some redundant 0's are removed before coming the ID's of the first available drive and the first CPU.

Try it out to see how the numbers look.

Software Outsourcing - Nearshore Software, Just Right!

,
3D MODELLING SOFTWARE :

Software outsourcing is usually a topic that we spend a lot of time with our clients on. One of the most fascinating discussions we go into is about the concept of precisely where software outsourcing should happen - either onshore, nearshore or offshore. For these purposes, we express onshore as inside the same region, nearshore as within the same continent and offshore as any place else.

Onshore is a great system for the reason that it provides a chance to always work with a geographically near squad who are employed in your timezone and that can relate smoothly and easily with you. Additionally, it is much easier to bring your squads physically alongside one another to go over organization requirements as well as to confirm a mutual comprehension of the venture. The problem is that the price structure they work inside of is the same or just like the one that your corporation operates inside of and thus you simply can't make use of the potentially lower cost structures associated with other places.

Offshore can be hard, however correctly executed, offers many benefits. The most important of the advantages tend to be your charge model. Offshore is commonly hindered by management issues dependent mainly on communication problems, but another headache that is sometimes forgotten stands out as the potential for associated risk whilst offshoring. Based on conversations which we've experienced with lots of customers relating to their specific software outsourcing in India for instance, there seems to be a high turn over rate of resources there. This turn over as well as low amounts of protection can cause danger to your IP.

Nearshore software outsourcing is an excellent accompaniment since it enables you to capitalize on lesser costs (however potentially not as little as offshore) however with a close physical location, effortless interaction as well as the similar timezone.

Where to target in your software outsourcing?

Initially, consider the form of job - the more complex and / or "fuzzy", the closer you want the team to generally be. If you're creating something new which will grow from original requirements, or if you need to have the software staff gain a strong appreciation for the company so they model all your procedures correctly, turn to nearshore or onshore development. Should you be performing large scale, securely described software development in that case offshore development brings the company's costs low.

Subsequently, think about the overall size and stature of the company. IBM, Google and Microsoft usually retain personnel in India much better than smaller companies in many cases.

Finally, assess the actual cost of outsourcing the software development. Offshore software development, in contrast to Nearshore software or Onshore software outsourcing, tends to have significant concealed charges around handling the crews correctly to obtain an excellent result. In closing, I one time strived in order to cost a software outsourcing project using either onshore and nearshore and offshore organizations and although the onshore and nearshore teams made use of employees that were two times the price, they also supplied a fixed rate cost on the task that was about half the amount of hours in contrast to offshore organizations. Therefore the net cost ended up being nearly identical onshore or nearshore and the potential risk appeared to be less.

Services Business Process Outsourcing - The Virtual Professional Services Organization

,
3D MODELLING SOFTWARE :

Consider the business situation of the emerging high-tech software company. The financial backers and executive management are anxious to build value in the fledgling software company as quickly as possible, with the minimum initial cash investment required. The bulk of the initial investment necessarily goes to finance, engineering, marketing and sales.

In addition, conventional wisdom demands that software technology companies need to show strong profit margins, with an overwhelming bias toward software sales compared to services sales, in order to demonstrate viability as a software company. Company valuations are typically much higher for software companies than for services companies, so the investors and management don't want any confusion. They want to be defined by the marketplace as a software company, not a services company. It's no big surprise then that emerging software companies are reluctant to aggressively embrace a services business component initially.

So what do you do? Emerging software companies desperately need their 1.X products to be successful so they can create reference accounts and build momentum, but it's likely that the availability of technical resources to assist early adopters will be limited. This work would obviously fall within the charter of an internal professional services organization, or PSO, if one were available.

One common solution is to use product engineer (R&D) staff or pre-sales technical resources to help alleviate the problem. However, doing so takes them away from their primary responsibility of building the next release of the product, assisting clients with tech support issues, or assisting sales in generating new product sales. Using R&D and pre-sales engineers in this way always leaves services revenue on the table since they are trying to do the minimum consulting required to accomplish a successful installation and then get on with their primary responsibilities. In most cases this strategy leaves the early adopter client wanting more.

The result is a real business management conundrum. The company and its clients need a services capability that the company would rather not implement if it could get around it. The solution could be Virtualization.

Virtualization, as in Virtual Professional Services Organization, or VPSO, is a management strategy that can be used to reduce, or avoid, the cost, risks and reluctance associated with building out an internal professional services organization within emerging software technology companies.

VPSO can be designed and implemented to provide internal PSO capabilities, including executive management, specific to the software technology company adopting it so that in-depth subject matter expertise can be offered to their customers in exactly the same way an internal PSO would. Organizational virtualization has already been adopted by many companies worldwide as we've seen in business process outsourcing of help desk and customer services functions. The VPSO model takes this compelling management strategy into the professional services functional area of software technology companies.

Since the VPSO model is not, as of yet anyway, defined in an industry standard manner, it can be implemented in any number of ways. Regardless of the details of the implementation, there are a core set of features and benefits that must be considered in order to achieve the overriding goal of the model, which is to provide PSO services virtually at the same level, or better, than an internal PSO could provide. In the absence of an industry standard, the success of the VPSO implementation should be measured, at a minimum, against the following objectives.

  • A commitment to developing a services business plan that demonstrates a path to achieving the business and financial goals of the VPSO arrangement for all parties involved;
  • The ability to provide a seamless PSO management interface between the software company using VPSO, the services delivery company that is providing services, and the clients being served;
  • The ability to develop a consulting services staff that is able to provide in-depth technology and business solution consulting around the company's products using subject matter experts;
  • The commitment and ability of the VPSO services delivery company to assist sales teams to leverage software/technology license sales through consulting services and the commitment and ability of the company using VPSO to leverage consulting services business through software/technology license sales;
  • The ability to generate a services revenue stream that meets the business requirements of the company using VPSO and the services delivery company that is providing the services;
  • The ability of the VPSO program to succeed in harmony with the partner channel of the software technology company;
  • A commitment and the ability of the services delivery company to develop a PSO operating platform including methods, procedures, standards, engagement framing documentation, management structure, and information processing mechanisms that can be utilized if and when the software technology company decides to transition from VPSO to internal PSO.

This is not to say that the VPSO model works for all emerging software technology companies, under all circumstances. However, it is a strategy that can work in many scenarios and should be seriously considered as a means to transform a critical business challenge into a winning business opportunity.

Handheld GPS Benefits to Any Hiker

,
3D MODELLING SOFTWARE :

The hiker has mostly been a spirited, adventure seeker wanting to see the unusual. Those desires have lead to discoveries of many beautiful and scenic places. Many an outdoor person wants to be able to enjoy nature at its best with minimal risk to self or equipment. A well planned trip can help remove risk and prevent possible errors in location, time, and safety. A handheld GPS can help with preventing location errors which will save time, energy, and possible safety issues. GPS units come in a variety of levels of sophistication and features. Handheld GPS units are designed to be multifunctional and some models are water resistant.

The handheld GPS can be operated easily with some practice. These units can have coordinates programmed in or downloaded into them depending on your model's features and the methods available. Either method will work without spending a large amount of time. By getting a quality map one can get the coordinates of the trail and input the coordinates into the unit. There are also websites where the coordinates for many trails and sites to visit can be downloaded. Another method is purchasing software programs and downloading them into the handheld GPS. The software programs are available on the web and in retail stores for many trails in many places. One can establish waypoints or locations for overnight stops or resting as well as possible scenic views. With the coordinates programmed in, the handheld GPS can guide you, similar to a compass, along the trail. Advance planning can keep one on a safe course and often avoid unwanted delays.

As useful and dependable as the handheld GPS is there are a few cautions to consider in planning the outing. The unit is not functional where large objects interrupt the satellite signal such as thick forested areas or dense foliage. Large building and hills will also interrupt satellite signal transmission. Therefore when using the handheld GPS unit one needs to be away for objects that interfere with the radio way path. Patience may be required as the unit picks up signals from the satellites to calculate the desired information. Also, battery life needs to be considered and compensated for. If the screen light is needed for night or in dark areas often it will reduce the life of the battery.

The handheld GPS is a very useful piece of equipment. It stores the route, keeps one on course, and can help with time and safety. One needs to remember that technology is useful but it does not replace good planning and preparation. However, technology can make preparation easier and safer so the outdoor person can focus more on nature.

Apple's IOS Vs Google's Android OS Vs Blackberry's Rim Vs Microsoft's Windows Mobile

,
3D MODELLING SOFTWARE :

Part 1: Current Situation

Let's start out with Apple.

Apple has been a solid brand in the mobile industry ever since they started. We've seen iPhones and iPads, all ranging from decent to excellent quality devices. Of course, every new system has its issues, but Apple always played on the ball pretty quickly. They deliver high quality hardware, but a bit lackluster software in certain areas.

I'll give you a simple example. The menu of your iPhone or iPad. It's not too easy to change the layout of things, or to customize it, as they say. Apple has put up certain restrictions in what you can and cannot do, with the standard software. Of course, smart people have found a way around this, but still, charging bucketloads of money for a high quality product without being able to add a personal touch? A bit strange if you ask me....

Another software related issue that held me back from ever buying an iPhone or an iPad, is the necessity to use iTunes. iTunes is a great program, don't get me wrong. I use it on a bi-weekly basis for my iPod. However, I expected more from apple in regards to their iPhones and iPads. Any media you might want to load on the internal memory of said devices, requires iTunes. Up to a certain degree, i can understand the need to use an additional program.

But iTunes is so clunky to use. It's slow at times. It takes ages to complete file transfers. It doesn't even allow you to keep some original media formats, because it has to be converted first. All in all, for me personally, this s a rather negative aspect of the otherwise excellent products. I just prefer to get things done properly, fast, and hassle free.

Next up, we got Google, with the Android OS.

Google has become a household brand to anyone even remotely connected to internet or technology. They have come a long way, however, they also still have quite a long way to go. I'm an Android user myself (not necessarily a fanboi though), and I like the state Android is in.

It doesn't fill all my needs though. I'm a media person. None of the Android OSes, being it official releases or customized ROM, can fully satisfy me. There is a light at the end of the tunnel i think, but we'll have to eagerly await and see what the future holds in store for us.

The biggest downside of the Android OS is this: Gingerbread is fine for smartphones, however not all models will see an (official) Gingerbread version. For tablets, Honeycomb is an excellent piece of software, but not all tablets get an upgrade to Honeycombs, which is supposed to be THE Android OS until we get Ice Cream Sandwich to get a "unified experience from both worlds".

In this regard, Apple is more consistent in making a complete OS to cover that certain device's needs and strengths. I'm pretty sure Ice Cream Sandwich (from what I've seen so far) makes a big step in the right direction. But there's still work to be done after that. But we're getting ahead of ourselves here, we'll come back to Ice Cream Sandwich later on.

This all brings us to Blackberry. Where to start on this matter?

Blackberry has been a norm for business users, and also a fair share of non-business users, for years. Everyone had to own a Blackberry to ensure an optimal mobile experience on their smartphones, or their tablets. And Blackberry still delivers some excellent business functionality on its devices. If it works properly, that is.

I'm sure you have all heard about the recent Blackberry outage, which left most (if not all) its users worldwide without e-mail and internet services for a few days. We're not talking about a few hundred people here folks, we're talking about a GLOBAL OUTAGE of the most used services on a smartphone or tablet. After everything was sorted, they tried to make up for this by giving everyone "over one hundred dollars worth of premium applications for free".

Now, let's be honest here, how many of you had 3 or more useful premium apps in that package? Basically, most of you got diddly squat. Which means Blackberry only made up to the business users, if they actually had any use for the premium apps, that is. All other users got left in the cold. A recent survey pointed out that 60% of current Blackberry users will not sign up for a new Blackberry device after their contract expires. Ouch!

On a brighter note, this will not be the end of Blackberry, nor RIM. But the same applies to Blackberry as it does for Google: set a step in the right direction, and keep pushing forward from that point on. If you want people to stay with Blackberry, or even attract new customers, you'll have to get your act together rather sooner than later.

Last but not least, we have Microsoft's Windows Mobile.

This could actually be the dark horse in this race in my opinion. Windows Mobile has been around for a while, hasn't achieved any great successes, but it hasn't been put out of business by the other competitors either. It's always been around, and trust me, it will be around for much longer after competitors might have disappeared into obscurity.

Microsoft's Windows Mobile, or Windows Phone as it has been formally known as, has been a synonym for quality user experiences (mostly at least), combined with decent hardware, in a trust Windows-esque environment. Windows Phone has always been aimed at the customers, and not necessarily at enterprises, compared to Blackberry's RIM.

After facing cancellation in development in 2004, Microsoft reorganised the Windows Mobile Group, leading to the first, albeit interim,Windows Mobile launch in 2009. Things didn't start off well, because Windows Mobile wasn't compatible with any Windows Phone applications. This was to blame on a lack of resources and time.

Eventually, the naming of the OS changed to Windows Phone 7. (Sounds catchy, don't you think?) As of this writing, Microsoft has sealed a deal with Nokia (yes, they are still around) to distribute Windows Phone 7 on a new line of smartphones coming to a place near you. However, those exact places are still undisclosed as of now. You have to love a bit of mystery people!

Part 2: The future?

In my opinion, this fatal four-way will lead to a three-horse race, with the other player sitting in the seats watching on and slowly biding their masterfully skilled return plan to the scene. I'll explain my future vision of mobile world:

The top two brands will remain Apple, with their iOS, and Google, with their Android OS. Both companies seem to be heading down the same path in terms of software development, user experience, and hardware upgrades. However, Apple still has a big head start, because they control all aspects of the manufacturing and development process.

Android will keep on increasing mobile devices' sales (not shipped units, actual sales), but remain a bit behind Apple's undisputed leadership of the current market. A twist for the leadership might happen at some point in the future, but I wouldn't expect it in the first years. However, slowly yet steadily, we will see the market evening out.

Windows Mobile will be appealing to most low-end, non-technical users. They have a line of decent smartphones coming up, which are easy to use with decent hardware under the hood, produced by Nokia. Not everyone wants to pay big money for a smartphone, and most certainly not everyone needs all functions available on iOS or Android smartphones or tablets. Will we ever see Windows Mobile on a tablet? Only time will tell, but it would be a smart decision in my opinion.

Blackberry's RIM will ultimately be left behind in years to come if they don't step up their game towards both regular consumers, and enterprises. They may very well leave the mobile market altogether, and never be heard from again in this regard. Or they could surprise us all and become the number one company in the business. Who can tell?

How to Fix Error Code 0x80070005 "Access Is Denied" Easily

,
3D MODELLING SOFTWARE :

Many users have been experiencing the error code 0x80070005 "access is denied". When this error happens, the users normally seek the help of a computer technician. Fortunately, if you know some basic things about computer, it will be very easy to correct the error.

Error code 0x80070005 is a common error that mainly happens when new programs are installed. Another reason for this error is traced to virus and malware. Once the error pops up, there is no need to worried as you can correct it easily. In case the error is seen, the first thing you have to do is to scan the system. When scanning the system, you will be able to identify the real reason of the error.

Look for new programs that you have installed. Sometimes, these new programs may not have completely read over the old program. In such a case, uninstall the new program and again install it. But you should have to keep in mind to only install the latest version of the program.

As said earlier, you should have a reliable anti-virus program running to keep the system from errors. The viruses can get into the files and corrupt them, which will lead to error code 0x80070005.

You should also check for the new drivers that you have in the system. Always make sure that you have the drivers that are compatible with your system. If it is not so, then you can expect error code 0x80070005 happens somewhere.

The error can also happen if there are problems in the registry. Your system may become slow or show errors if the registry is corrupt or damaged. Therefore, you should have to scan the registry often for clearing these errors. The registry cleaning is easy and if you know how to deal with it, you can do it yourself. You have to be very careful when cleaning the registry as it contains valuable data needed for the smooth functioning of the system. If you are not aware of cleaning the registry, then you can seek the advice of a computer technician. But the best way is to use registry-cleaning software, which does the job very fast. Moreover, you need no worries of losing any valuable data when cleaning the registry using the tools.

What's the Difference Between 2D and 3D Anyway?

,
3D MODELLING SOFTWARE :

Isn't it obvious? Well, apparently not quite, when you consider how many people are still struggling with this topic!

The first concept you must grasp is that 3D means 3 dimensional and 2D means 2 dimensional. Now before you think I'm stating the obvious, let me go on to say that the 3D and 2D in animation refer to the dimension in which the animation was created. Ahhhh. The plot thickens eh?

For 2D animation, everything happens on a 2 dimensional platform. Pictures are flat, without depth and offer only one perspective. Objects and characters are usually drawn without the subtle soft shadows we see in real life and colours have few varying shades. In 3D animation, everything happens on a 3 dimensional platform. Pictures have depth and offer multiple perspectives just like in real life and have soft subtle shadows casted on the objects and characters within.

In 2D, characters look cartoonish and unrealisitc. In 3D, characters can look cartoonish but realistic at the same time.

Another way to think of this is to think in terms of a painting and a sculpture. 2D is a painting, and 3D is a sculpture. 3D introduces "depth perspective," so we not only see a rectangle (2D) but a CUBE (3D). You may also want to think of it like being the difference between a photograph of a glass of water (2D) and being able to reach out and actually pick up the glass of water (3D).

Typically, 2D involves "drawing," or movement on, say, a flat surface (sketch pad, etc.) or in the vertical and horizontal planes. 3D involves "modeling," i.e., creating objects in 3-dimensions using a computer software, residing in an expansive virtual environment, complete with lights, reflections, other objects, shadows, etc.

You could start training yourself by comparing a cartoon like Bugs Bunny, Aladdin, Lion King (2D) to "Toy Story 1,2 & 3, "Finding Nemo" and "Incredibles" (3D). If you have not watched any of these great cartoons, you should grab one right away or be branded a neantherdal forever!

Database Fundamentals

,
3D MODELLING SOFTWARE :

Database Fundamentals must be prepared to all the computer professionals and users. If you lack in their actual
meaning of terms, you would always find an uneasiness and discomfort when these
jargons come to you. This article is targeted to a novice and expert both, so
that novice can prepare and an expert can revise things as well. My approach is
to mention all the things concerned with database concepts.

[1] Entity and Entity Relationships :

Entity :

An Entity is place, object or thing for which we can collect information.

Such as Student is an Entity and we can collection information like Name, Phone and Address. Here, Name, Phone and Address are the Attributes of entity 'student'.

Entity Relationship Diagram :

Also called as E-R Diagram. E-R Diagram is the graphical depiction of the entity, its attribute and relationship between entities.

[2] Data and Database :

Data :

Data are the single unit of an information.

Such as if name of an employee is 'John', then 'John' is a data. His telephone no. is
'+9109880959786', then, this is also a data. The value of the attribute of any entity can be said as data.

So, Data are the known facts that can be recorded and have their implicit meaning. e.g. name, telephone, address etc.

Data is a plural and 'Datum' is the singular form of the data.

Information :

When the set of data are collected together in a meaningful manner, an information is generated.

Such as if we take example of an employee 'John'. The Name is 'John' , Telephone no. is
'+9109880959786' , designation is 'DBA'. So, if we collectively analyze these, we get information that
'John' is an employee with telephone no. '+9109880959786' and he is designated as
'DBA'.

So, When the some set of data are collected together, information get produced.
Although, this information is not for computer, this is just for humans only.

Database :

Database is the collection of related data.

Database is logically coherent collection of data with some inherent meaning. A random assortment of data can not be said as database. Such as a Telephone Diary is also a database, but, if it is randomly stored then, it can not be said as database.
Database can be generated manually or in computerized manner. The Library catalog is also a database.

[3] Database Management System (DBMS) :

Database Management System is the collection of programs and tools that enables users to create and maintain the database.

A DBMS is also a general purpose software system that facilitates the process of defining, constructing and manipulating databases for various applications.

Characteristics of Database Management System :

(1) Self Describing

(2) Insulation from Programs and Data Abstraction

(3) Support of Multiple views to Database.

[4] Advantages of DBMS:

1- Controlling Redundancy :

There are provisions in all database models that redundant storage of the data can be avoided.

2- Security Over Unauthorized Access :

This is the feature found in the database that without proper login, no one can modify or store database. The security can not be achieved with the flat file (Sequential) approach.

3- Providing Persistent Storage for Database Objects :

Database can be used as the persistent storage of Program objects, Database and Database structures. This meant that a complex object of programming languages can be stored in the database. This gives more flexibility and compatibility of database over the programming languages.

4- Permitting Inferencing and Actions using Rules :

Inferencing is the method for defining deducing rules for inferencing new information from stored database. Such database are called as Deducible Database. In other words, there must be some methods to provide information by logical implementation on the stored database.

6- Allowing Multiple User Interface :

DBMS has the capability to provide concurrent execution of various parts of the database. In this approach, Deadlock and other anomalies are also handled by the DBMS.

5- Backup and Recovery :

Database Management Systems have proper mechanism to Backup the whole database and recover when any disaster comes to picture. There are methods for Disaster Recovery in all DBMS.

[5] Data Models :

A data model is the set of conceptual tools for describing data, their relation, semantics and consistency constraints. There are following data models-

(1) Hierarchical Model

(2) Network Model

(3) Relational Model

(4) Object Relational Model

Describing all of these would be out of context. You should know that with all these, Relational Model is famous one. Newer implementation of DBMS do follow Object Oriented Model. Such as Oracle, Sybase and SQL Server.

[6] Logical and Physical Data Independence :

Data Independence is the quality of DBMS that ensure the capability to change the database in a manner that the change in one level does not affect the other level. Such as change in the physical storage (Internal Level) does not affect the database structure (Conceptual Level).

(1) Logical Data Independence:

Capability to change the Logical structure without changing the external and internal schema of the database.

(2) Physical Data Independence:

Capability to change the Physical schema without any change in the conceptual schema of the database.

[7] Database Languages :

There are following database languages-

[1] DDL (Data Definition Language)

[2] DML (Data Manipulation Language)

[3] DCL (Data Control Language)

[1] DDL (Data Definition Language)

This is the language concerned with the creation of database structure and schema related with this. This language is concerned with the definition of the whole database architecture.
DDL is used to define and manage all the objects in an database. Such as creating Databases, creating security objects that define the whole database.

[2] DML (Data Manipulation Language)

Insertion, Update , Delete and Selection are the activities concerned with the database manipulation language.
DML is used to Select, Insert, Update, and Delete data in the objects defined using DDL.

[3] DCL ( Database Control Language)

Database control language is concerned with the consistency maintaining, authorizing access and other control over the database.

There are some other languages which must be known. These are -

VDL (View Definition Language) : Providing means to view the conceptual schema of database for external level of three level schema.

SDL (Storage Definition Language) : Providing means to change or modify the internal schema of the database.

[8] Relational Database :

The Relation database model is based upon the conception of implementing the database with the Mathematical Set Theory. In this model, data is collection of tables called Relation in the set theory. The Tabular representation of data contains rows and columns in which rows represent set of attributes of individual entity and the columns represent the attribute of entity.

A model is also said as Relational Database Model, if it follows complete set of Rules defined by Dr. E.F. Codd. There are 12 Rules of Dr. Codd. In all of them, only Oracle is supposed to follow nearly all of them. But, the best in performance is Sybase which is more easier to configure that of Oracle.

SQL :

SQL is actually Structured Query Language. This is pronunciated as 'sequel', but 'Ess-Que-El' is also correct.
It was initially named by Dr. E.F. Codd who named it Structured English Query
Language (S E Que L ) as Sequel.

SQL is based on the Relational Model. Nearly all the database implementation in the world are in Relational Model. Sybase ,SQL Server, Oracle,
DB2 are the famous implementation of Relational Model. But these are also kept in the Category of Object Relational Model.
Microsoft Access is not supposed to be relational model. This actually uses some
flavors of relational database. But, can not be taken into account of pure
Relational database.

ANSI-SQL :

American National Standards Institute handles the standards of SQL. The changes
are made time to time. We have ANSI-SQL-89, ANSI-SQL-92 and other standards.
There are several levels decided. Microsoft SQL Server is given entry level.

Conclusion :

This is all about providing protection for passwords. There are many other
things to research in the same scenario and I would like to share my ideas when
such studies are complete. Overall, my aim was to open your eyes that backups
are not only to secure your data, but due to carelessness this may lead to
leakage of information. In my opinion, disclosure of important information is
more serious matter than loss of information. So, awareness is important and
there is a little effort to apply in securing your backups.

How To Choose a Compact Digital Camera

,
3D MODELLING SOFTWARE :

Compact digital cameras are such a craze today that almost every household has one. The popularity of digitals has in fact overshadowed to near extinction the use of cameras with films. But what is it about digital cameras that make even the professional users go gaga over it?

Digital cameras may cost more than the ordinary camera but it is cost effective in the long term. Unlike ordinary cameras, digitals operate without expensive films. The photos can be stored in the user's computer, or he can save it on a disc, flash drive or have it printed to photo paper. It is said to be a good investment not only because it does capture memories, but also it allows the user to save on film expenses.

The mad rush for compact digital cameras has begun and even those who could not afford to buy one are saving for that precious digital camera. To make it a good investment, buyers of compact digital cameras should make sure they know what they are buying and that they are buying the camera that best fits their requirements.

Neophyte digital users believe that the higher the pixel of the camera, the better for them. The truth is, a digital camera's pixel is only as good as the user's requirements. It means choosing the amount of pixels depends on your needs and not just for the sake of buying a camera with high pixels.

Before considering the type of digital you need, it is practical to take note of your budget or allowance allotted for buying the camera. Digital makers come up with new models every six months that cameras that are highly priced before now can be more affordable for you later on.

Choosing a compact camera brand really depends on the preference of the user. There are brands that are highly priced because they are popular and the manufacturers have spent millions for advertisements. Good reviews will also depend on the preferences of the camera reviewers so better stick to the basic requirements of a good camera. Sometimes, buyers opt for well-known brands that have been in the camera business for a long time to make sure they are buying quality digital cameras.

Prospective buyers of digitals should be patient in reading the guide or manual because unlike the ordinary camera, digital cameras are a bit more complicated to use the first time. It gets easier though once you get the hang of it.

When choosing which camera, take note of the optical zoom and not the digital zoom because the former does the real zooming. As to the matter of mega pixels, the higher the pixels, the more expensive it gets. However, if you just need to print your photos in small sizes, you do not need the higher mega pixels. When using digital cameras with the intention of printing your photos, it is ideal to choose the highest resolution but this will also mean each shot will require more memory storage. You also have to know that digitals come with software that will allow users to adjust the sizes of the photos. However, it is always best to change a higher resolution shot to lower resolution than the reverse because it has a tendency to become pixelized and the image will become blurred.

Whatever model of digital camera you choose, make sure it is appropriate for your requirements. If you are an amateur, start with a camera that has the basic requirements and a lower mega pixel so it will be affordable for you and won't be afraid to take a bad picture because all you have to do is delete it and take another photo.

3D CNC Router

,
3D MODELLING SOFTWARE :

The 3D CNC Router gives the reliability and performance of more expensive CNC machines. The Personal Robotics System (PRS) includes everything that you will need to get up and running: the tool, the table and the software. No matter what your needs are, routing, sculpting, cutting, or machining, the program that you need is available. No longer is this type of technology available only for large companies; it is now available for small businesses who like to compete at higher levels, who like to be able to offer their clientele the type of service that they deserve and to those who want to expand and incorporate new technologies into their business.

This type of technology can be incorporated into many different projects and can cut your time in half. You will be able to work faster and produce quality products that will make every customer happy. From sign making to woodworking, the 3D CNC router offers you the ability to offer 3D work that is sure to please.

Real 3D features will stand out among the rest. 2D carves do not stand out. 3D carves stand out and stand up, making them unique and very noticeable. 3D uses angles and curves to cut the path. The X, Y, and Z axes are used. Also with 3D, you will design in 3D. Even though the former 2.5D option was cutting in 3D like moves, the design process was still 2D, not 3D.

The 3D CNC Router offers more complex carving, unique features and design options. Designing and the actual tool-path creation is two different things completely and there are different software programs for each. You must learn how to separate the two.

No longer will your design process be flat drawing lines, now you will model your design. You build up the design using different 3D shapes and with the right program this actual model will reflect over onto the tool path. This means that what you were previously used to, will no longer be with the 3D CNC router.

Clip Art/Models

If you don't do enough 3D projects to justify the cost of the 3D modeling software, you do not have to worry about it. There are companies who offer 3D clip art that can be used with the 3D CNC router. If you do not use the software program enough, your proficiency level as an artist will not be high. The 3D clipart option could be the best option for you.

Purchasing 3D models via the web may not be best. Usually these models have been developed for other uses such as video, etc. They are not developed explicitly for cutting; however, you can purchase 3D models that are specifically designed for cutting and this would be the right option for you. So, when considering purchasing 3D models instead of developing your own, make sure that you purchase the right ones. The resolution quality will be better and they will allow you to change the scale of the model, if needed.
